DC Kulgam Reviews Performance of Social Welfare and Allied Sectors

KULGAM, JUNE 02: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS) today chaired a review meeting to assess the functioning of the Social Welfare Department and allied sectors including ICDS, One Stop Centre (OSC), DHEW, and ICPS.


The DC was informed that 32,661 pension cases have been sanctioned under ISSS, and NSAP has covered 4,948 beneficiaries. Under the State Marriage Assistance Scheme, 1,915 cases were sanctioned during 2024-25, with 400 new cases approved this year. Financial assistance under ISSS has increased from ₹29.36 crore to ₹35.09 crore.


The DC emphasized zero pendency in marriage assistance, Aadhaar seeding of all beneficiaries, and 100% registration under ICDS. He also called for bridging data gaps, ensuring immunization of newborns and pregnant women, and adherence to procurement norms.


Functioning of OSC, DHEW, and ICPS was also reviewed, with directions to enhance outreach and support services. The meeting was attended by ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri and officials from concerned departments.
