DC Kulgam Visits District Hospital, Emphasizes Timely Completion of Ongoing Health Projects

Kulgam, July 17: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), today paid a visit to the District Hospital Kulgam to review the progress of various ongoing health infrastructure projects aimed at upgrading healthcare services in the district.


During the visit, the DC directed concerned officers to expedite the pace of developmental works, which include the extension of a 50-bedded emergency critical care unit, construction of an additional maternity and child health block, renovation and upgradation of the main hospital building, development of a new ticketing counter-cum-waiting area, DNB hostel, additional car parking, and establishment of a dedicated autopsy room.


The DC inspected various IPD wards, interacted with patients, and assessed the facilities being provided. He also took stock of the availability of essential medicines, particularly under the Jan Aushadhi scheme, and emphasized maintaining adequate supplies.


To ensure uninterrupted patient care, the DC instructed the Medical Superintendent to encourage night-time renovation work on the old hospital block.


It is noteworthy that civil and allied works under the District Capex Budget 2024, with an estimated cost of ₹261.73 lakh, are currently underway to bridge existing infrastructure gaps.


The Medical Superintendent of the hospital expressed gratitude to the DC for his continued support and recent upgrades, including the installation of a digital X-ray plant, anesthesia station, orthopedic surgery theatre, and dialysis equipment.


The DC was accompanied by ADDC Altaf Ahmad, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, ACR Reyaz Ahmad Shah, CPO Malik Suheel, CMO, Tehsildar and BDO Kulgam, HQ Assistant, AEE and JE of R&B, and hospital administrative staff.
