KULGAM, JUNE 04: In a continued push to bring governance closer to the people, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), today conducted a public outreach programme at Frisal to directly engage with residents and address their grievances.
During the interactive session, various delegations, civil society members, and locals from Frisal and surrounding areas raised a host of developmental and civic issues. Key demands included the reservation and development of Shankpal Spring, construction of link roads to orchard areas, enhancement of healthcare facilities, establishment of playfields, and other essential infrastructure needs.
The DC gave a patient hearing to the concerns put forth and assured the public that all genuine issues would be addressed on a priority basis and in a time-bound manner.
Addressing the issue of irrigation challenges, DC Khan highlighted that 440 works have been incorporated under this year’s developmental plan specifically to improve irrigation facilities, which will significantly boost agricultural productivity across the region.
The outreach programme saw the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Viqar Ahmad Giri, DDC Member Frisal, ACD, JDP, Executive Engineers, CEO, Tehsildar, BDO, and other district officers, who also noted the demands for further follow-up and action.
