KULGAM, MAY 19: In a move aimed at strengthening educational infrastructure in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), today visited Government Degree College (GDC) Kulgam to assess the progress of several ongoing developmental projects.
During the visit, the DC reviewed the construction of the Additional Lecture Block, being developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.79 crore, and the Auditorium Hall, which is being built at a cost of Rs. 4 crore. He also inspected other infrastructural initiatives currently underway at the college.
While on-site, DC Khan directed the Executive Engineer of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department to expedite the pace of work and ensure timely completion. He stressed the importance of maintaining high-quality standards throughout the execution process to provide top-notch facilities to students.
The DC underscored the significance of timely infrastructure development in enhancing the academic environment and fostering holistic growth among students.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam Viqar Ahmad Giri, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Riyaz Ahmad Shah, Executive Engineer R&B Shabir Ahmad Tak, Tehsildar Kulgam Nisar Ahmad Wani, and other concerned officials.
