KULGAM, MAY 27: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS) today visited the Mata Kheer Bhawani Asthapan in Manzgam to take stock of preparations being made for the upcoming Mela Kheer Bhawani, a significant annual religious event.
During the visit, officers from various departments including KPDCL, Jal Shakti, Health, and others briefed the DC about the arrangements put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the mela.
DC Khan emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to provide seamless facilities to the devotees. He directed officials to ensure that all essential services, including water supply, sanitation, power, and healthcare, are adequately arranged.
Specific instructions were given to the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) for the installation of solar lighting, while the KPDCL was asked to ensure uninterrupted power backup during the festival.
Highlighting the importance of devotee comfort, the DC stressed on comprehensive arrangements to support the smooth and safe observance of the festival.
The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Viqar Ahmed Giri, Tehsildar, Dy-SP, BMO, and other officials during the visit.
