In a historic move, the *Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Nalin Prabhat*
on Saturday became the first police chief to visit the Lolab Valley in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district — a region once known for *terrorism* and *unrest*.
This is the first time that such a high-ranking police officer has visited this remote and sensitive area, which lies close to the Line of Control and has faced security challenges for many years.
The DGP’s visit aimed to review the law-and-order situation, assess security arrangements, and boost the morale of local police forces. He was accompanied by senior officers, including SSP Kupwara Ghulam Jeelani Wani.
