District Youth Services & Sports Kulgam Inaugurates Special Tournament for Differently-Abled Persons

Kulgam, May 19:The District Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Office Kulgam today inaugurated a special sports tournament dedicated to differently-abled persons, featuring events such as cricket, Carrom, and chess.

The inaugural ceremony was led by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kulgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori, who highlighted the department’s commitment to inclusivity and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. "We have officially inaugurated various games today for specially-abled persons from all six zones of Kulgam district," said Pampori. He emphasized that such initiatives aim to keep youth, including differently-abled students, engaged in constructive activities and away from the menace of drug abuse.

Participants expressed gratitude toward the district authorities for organizing the tournament. "We are very thankful to the District Youth Services and Sports Kulgam for arranging this platform for us. It gives us confidence and a sense of inclusion," said one of the differently-abled players while speaking to the media.

The tournament is expected to continue over the coming days, showcasing talent and fostering community spirit among differently-abled athletes across the district.
