Srinagar, Aug 12 — Deputy Superintendent of Police Sheikh Aadil has been reinstated into service after Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ordered the closure of departmental proceedings, official sources said on Tuesday.

The decision came following an investigative agency’s report which found “no substance” in the allegations under the Prevention of Corruption Act, terming the case as “not proved.”

The Hon’ble Court had also dismissed the charge sheet for allied offences under the Indian Penal Code after due consideration.

According to sources, the Inquiry Commission, after a “detailed and impartial examination,” exonerated Dy. SP Sheikh Aadil of all charges. The Intelligence Wing, in its independent assessment, also issued a clean chit.

“In light of these findings, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir has formally closed the departmental proceedings as ‘not proved’ and ordered his immediate reinstatement into service,” the sources confirmed.
