Udhampur, July 18: Eight Amarnath pilgrims sustained injuries after their Innova vehicle was hit by a truck near Battal Ballian in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Thursday.
According to officials, the accident took place when a truck bearing registration number PB65AV/9318 collided with an Innova (UP81BN/3701) carrying the pilgrims from the Pahalgam route of the Amarnath Yatra.
Preliminary reports revealed that eight people were onboard the Innova at the time of the incident. Three of them received minor injuries and were treated at the site. The remaining five, who sustained more serious injuries, were immediately shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) Associated Hospital in Udhampur for advanced medical care.
Police have registered a case in connection with the accident, and further investigation is currently underway.
