Eight Policemen Injured as Police Gypsy Overturns in Baramulla's Uri

Baramulla, May 30: Eight policemen were injured after a police vehicle overturned near the Twin Bridge area in Uri, located in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, on Friday.


According to a senior police officer, the vehicle — a Gypsy belonging to Police Post Udoosa, Uri — was carrying officials for deployment duties when it skidded off the road and overturned. The mishap occurred in the Twin Bridge locality, a known accident-prone zone in the region.


All eight injured personnel were rushed to the Sub District Hospital (SDH) Uri, where they are currently receiving treatment. The extent of their injuries is not immediately known.


Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident.
