First Muharram Procession Commences from Khalibhat Near LoC in Uri, Led by Jaffari Council Chairman Haji Musadiq Hussain Manhas

Uri:- The first procession of Muharram-ul-Haram commenced from Khalibhat village, located near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Baramulla district. The solemn procession was led by Haji Musadiq Hussain Manhas, Chairman of the Jaffari Council Jammu and Kashmir, and was attended by hundreds of devotees who gathered to mark the beginning of the holy month.

While speaking on the occasion, Haji Musadiq Hussain Manhas said, “Muharram reminds us of the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) and the timeless message of truth, justice, and standing against oppression. We must uphold these values in our daily lives and promote peace, unity, and brotherhood within our society.”

The procession passed peacefully through the designated route, with community volunteers ensuring order and discipline. Local authorities had made necessary arrangements for security and public convenience during the event.
