Handwara, June 14, 2025:
Continuing its efforts to curb drug-related cultivation and promote a drug-free environment, Police Post Langate today carried out a Wild Bhung Destruction Drive in the areas of Batpora, Zand Batpora, and Guloora, destroys 30 Kanals of wild Bhung.
The drive witnessed active participation from civil society members and Masjid Committee representatives, reflecting strong community involvement in the ongoing fight against narcotic substances.
During the operation, large patches of wild cannabis (Bhung) were identified and systematically destroyed. Awareness was also raised among the local population about the legal and social consequences of cultivating or tolerating such substances.
This initiative underscores the unwavering commitment of Handwara Police to preventive measures and community-driven efforts in combating the drug menace.
