_Handwara Police Organises Debate Competition on Role and Ideology of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel_

In a meaningful effort to pay tribute to the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a debate competition was organised today by District Police Handwara at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Handwara. The event focused on the life, role, and ideology of Sardar Patel—popularly known as the Iron Man of India.

A large number of students from various institutions actively participated in the competition, expressing their views on Patel’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle, his leadership qualities, and his efforts in unifying the nation post-independence.

The participants highlighted Patel’s values of discipline, unity, and national integration, inspiring the audience to reflect on the importance of strong and selfless leadership in nation-building.

During the event, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdhary (JKPS) addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to follow the ideals of nation building espoused by Sardar Patel. He emphasised the importance of youth engagement in nation-building and praised the students for their insightful speeches. He also reiterated the role of police in promoting educational and patriotic initiatives among the younger generation.

The initiative was part of the ongoing public outreach and awareness programmes undertaken by the District Police to engage youth in constructive activities while promoting patriotism and civic responsibility.

The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementoes to the participants and winners. SSP Handwara and other senior officers appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and extended gratitude to the school administration for their cooperation in making the event a success.
