Home Minister Amit Shah to Visit Jammu & Kashmir on May 29 .

Srinagar, May 28 – Union Home Minister and BJP member,Amit Shah is all set to visit Jammu and Kashmir for a two-day tour starting May 29. The visit will include a high-level security review in Jammu, followed by a visit to Poonch to meet the victims of a recent cross-border shelling.


This will mark Shah's first visit to the Union Territory since the launch of ‘Operation Sindoor, a massive counter-terror operation undertaken by Indian forces in the wake of increased infiltration and terror threats.


On April 23, Shah had visited the site of a gruesome terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, including 25 tourists. 


The upcoming visit will aim to reinforce the government’s stance on national security and express solidarity with border residents affected by ongoing ceasefire violations.


As per the sources, Shah will be briefed by top security officials, including Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, senior Army commanders from Northern Command, and heads of paramilitary forces like the CRPF and BSF. 


Discussions will focus on recent escalation along the Line of Control and measures under Operation Sindoor, which has reportedly neutralized nearly 100 terrorists in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.


Sajid Yousuf Shah, BJP’s Kashmir media incharge highlighted the importance of Shah’s visit, highlighting the central government’s dedication to ensuring the safety of civilians living near the volatile border regions.
