Security personnel have augmented their deployment in sensitive areas, and several checkpoints have been established. Although the search for the attackers continues, residents have complained about long queues, surprise house searches, and restrictions in certain areas.

The Chief Minister has instructed officials to be in line with procedure and sensitive when handling the public. "We have to balance toughness in security and respect for human rights," he said. CM Omar Abdullah also asked the people to assist the authorities and provide any beneficial information.
