Kulgam, June 18: A high-level inquiry committee from the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir today visited District Hospital Kulgam to probe the death of 28-year-old pregnant woman, Nayeema, wife of Shoukat Ahmad Bhat of Srandoo Kulgam, who died on Tuesday, June 17, under alleged circumstances of medical negligence.
The committee, headed by Dr. Khalid Parvaiz, In-Charge CMO Anantnag, includes Dr. Shahid Tak (Cardiologist, JLNM Hospital), Dr. Manzoor A. Rather (Anesthetist, DH Ganderbal), and Dr. Muzaffar Ali Khan (Surgeon, DH Budgam).
Medical Superintendent Dr. A.G. Raina said the hospital is fully cooperating with the team. “We are committed to transparency, and the committee is expected to submit its findings within two days,” he said.
The incident has drawn public concern, with demands for accountability and justice intensifying.
