Kulgam, May 1: The Municipal Council Kulgam marked International Workers' Day with a series of events aimed at honoring the contributions of workers and promoting environmental sustainability.
The highlight of the day was a plantation drive led by the Chief Executive Officer of Municipal Council Kulgam, Mr. Zahid Sajad. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sajad emphasized the importance of labor in building a progressive society and underscored the need for collective responsibility in preserving the environment.
Employees of the Municipal Council and local residents actively participated in the plantation drive, planting saplings across various areas in Kulgam town. The initiative was aimed at enhancing green cover and raising awareness about ecological conservation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed commitment by the Municipal Council to continue working for the welfare of workers and the betterment of the environment.
