Srinagar, May 19, 2025:

The Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society (JKCS) organized a thought-provoking and inclusive program titled ‘TOGETHER STRONGER’ at the Hat Trick Bouquet Hall, Rajbagh, aimed at fostering unity, compassion, and continuous social engagement across all sections of society.

The event witnessed active participation from prominent religious scholars, educationists, and social activists including Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, Mr. Rouf Panjabi, Mr. G.N. War, Sheikh Firoz, Dr. Adil, Mr. Mujeeb Masoodi, Mr. Mujtaba Nazki, Mr. Babar Choudhry, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad MD Shifa hospital, and several other respected voices from social and trade communities.

The meeting unanimously stressed the need for permanent unity and solidarity beyond times of natural or man-made crises. It was emphasized that even if an individual suffers, the whole society must stand with him, recognizing that no issue is too small to be ignored when seen from the lens of collective responsibility.

In a generous gesture, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad announced free medical services for patients in areas recently affected by incidents near the borders. Mr. G.N. War also assured educational assistance to students from these affected regions.

Addressing concerns of those impacted by the recent incidents, Chairman JKCS Mr. Imtiyaz Chashti urged the Tourism Industry to stand firmly with its workforce, particularly Tourist Taxi operators, and proposed they be temporarily accommodated as public transport service providers. He also appealed to the Transport Commissioner to facilitate permissions and requested local taxi stands to integrate these drivers into their networks to help them sustain their livelihoods.

The TOGETHER STRONGER initiative reflects JKCS’s commitment to creating a more compassionate, responsive, and united society that stands 24×7×365—not just in crisis but in continuous pursuit of collective betterment.
