Kupwara, June 14:

In a concerted effort to draw attention to pressing local concerns, the President of the Upper Rajwar Traders Association, the Vice President of the Citizens Development Forum Rajwar (CDFR), and the President of the Zachaldara Sumo Stand jointly held a press conference today at Zachaldara. Notably, no government official was present at the event.

During the press conference, speakers highlighted several critical issues affecting the region. Chief among them were the poor condition of the Bangus Road and the Handwara-Zachaldara route, which locals say urgently require repair and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable travel.

The speakers also underscored challenges faced by the health and education sectors in Zachaldara and adjoining areas. They pointed out the shortage of adequate healthcare facilities and stressed the need for improved infrastructure and resources in local schools to enhance the quality of education.

Another major concern raised was the persistent problem of inadequate drinking water supply, with an appeal for immediate measures to ensure residents have access to clean and sufficient water. Issues plaguing local markets, including poor infrastructure, lack of regulation, and insufficient support for traders, were also discussed in detail.

The participants strongly urged the administration to take prompt and concrete steps to resolve these longstanding problems. They appealed to the local population to remain united and continue to raise their voices for the welfare and development of the region.

Residents and stakeholders present at the event expressed hope that their collective demands would reach the relevant authorities and lead to tangible improvements in the near future.
