Kulgam, June 3: In a significant gesture aimed at ensuring smooth participation in the annual Mela Kheer Bhawani celebrations, the district administration of Kulgam arranged special transportation for migrant Kashmiri Pandits early this morning.
The arrangements were specifically made for those residing in the migrant colony at Vessu, Qazigund. Buses and other transport facilities were deployed at the break of dawn to ferry devotees to their respective destinations.
Following the organized departure, the pilgrims set off for Ganderbal, Manzgam, and Devsar—major sites where the revered Mela Kheer Bhawani is celebrated with great religious fervor. The initiative was met with appreciation from the community, who lauded the administration’s efforts in facilitating their spiritual journey with ease and safety.
Mela Kheer Bhawani, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Ragnya Devi, holds immense religious significance for Kashmiri Pandits and draws thousands of devotees each year to various shrines across Jammu and Kashmir.
