Kulgam Ignites Competitive Spirit Through Inter-School Sports Fest 2025

Kulgam, May 29: The district of Kulgam came alive with energy and enthusiasm as inter-school zonal level sports tournaments gained momentum across various disciplines, promoting youth participation and sporting excellence. Students from government and private institutions showcased their talent and team spirit, igniting a vibrant atmosphere of healthy competition.

In Zone Qaimoh, the Zonal Sports Office organized a spirited volleyball competition for girls under 14 and under 17 at the Indoor Stadium Khudwani. A large gathering of student athletes, clad in full sports gear, eagerly took to the field with high hopes and enthusiasm. The tournament was formally inaugurated by the Zonal Physical Education Officer Qaimoh, Mr. Abdul Hameed Shan, in the presence of the dedicated field staff.

The matches were conducted strictly in accordance with standard sports regulations, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process for the upcoming Inter-Zone District Level competitions. The event provided a platform for young, talented players to shine and secure a place in the next competitive round.

Meanwhile, Zone Kulgam hosted an Inter-School Volleyball competition for U/17 boys, drawing participation from over 75 student players across various schools. The event highlighted the athletic prowess and sportsmanship of the participants, contributing to the spirit of unity and competitive excellence in the district.

Adding further to the sporting fervor, the Zonal Physical Education Office Yaripora organized selection trials in Handball and Baseball for girls under 14 and 17 at BHSS Yaripora. The event was inaugurated by the Principal of BHSS Yaripora, with over 61 student-athletes from different institutions demonstrating skill, discipline, and teamwork.

These events mark a significant stride in nurturing grassroots sports culture in Kulgam and provide a stepping stone for aspiring young athletes to reach greater heights. The inter-school fest not only promotes fitness and camaraderie but also serves as a beacon of opportunity for future champions.
