Kulgam Police Arrests Drug Peddler, Recovers Contraband in Continued Drive Against Narcotics

Kulgam, May 14, 2025 – In its sustained campaign against drug trafficking, Kulgam Police has once again cracked down on drug peddlers by arresting an individual and recovering a significant quantity of contraband substance from his possession.


A police party led by In-Charge Police Post Mirbazar, while on routine patrol at Nipora, Qazigund, observed a suspicious individual who attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence. The alert police team acted swiftly, chased, and apprehended the suspect on the spot.


Upon search, the officers recovered 302 grams of charas powder from the individual's possession. The accused has been identified as Muneeb Ahmad Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat, resident of Berigam, Qazigund.


A case under FIR No. 85/2025 has been registered at Police Station Qazigund under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway.


Kulgam Police reaffirmed its commitment to rooting out the drug menace and urged the public to cooperate and report any information related to drug peddling or abuse.
