May 27, Kulgam: The much-anticipated Kulgam Police Cricket Tournament, organized by District Police Kulgam under CAP-2024-25, concluded today with a spirited closing ceremony held at Mini Stadium Kulgam.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams across the district. The final match saw Thunder Strikers clinch a dominant victory over Kulgam Tuskers, chasing down a modest target of 70 runs without losing a wicket. Junaid Ahmad of Thunder Strikers was named Man of the Match, while Nadeem Ahmad Bhat earned Man of the Series for his consistent performance.
SSP Kulgam, Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS, was the chief guest on the occasion, accompanied by DySP DAR Kulgam and other senior police officers. In his address, SSP Sarangal emphasized the importance of sports in channeling youth energy and nurturing talent that could represent the region and country in the future.
Cash prizes and trophies were distributed to both winners and runners-up, with a large crowd from across the district present to cheer the teams and applaud the initiative. The event concluded on a high note, with participants and spectators alike expressing gratitude to Kulgam Police for promoting sportsmanship and youth engagement.
