Kulgam Police Seize 4 Vehicles, Arrest 4 Drivers for Illegal Mining

KULGAM, JUNE 30:As part of its ongoing crackdown on illegal mining, Kulgam Police on Sunday seized four vehicles and arrested four individuals in the Mirbazar area for unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals.

A police team led by Incharge Police Post (IC PP) Mirbazar intercepted and seized two tippers and two tractors at a checkpoint set up at Akhran for illegally transporting minerals from Nallah Vaishow. The drivers of the vehicles were arrested on the spot.

An FIR No. 134/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund, and further investigation is underway.

The police have urged the public to report any information regarding illegal mineral extraction activities to ensure swift action against violators.
