Ladakh is highly important area of our great country India. It is an important border region and tourism area. By virtue of the 2019 abrogation of Article 370 and division of Jammu and Kashmir erstwhile state ,the Seperate Union territory of Ladakh came into existence.
Now in a great development, The President of India has promulgated the Union Territory of Ladakh Reservation (Amendment) Regulation, 2025 and reserved 85 percent jobs in the region.
As a matter of fact,
A gazetted notification stated that, “In exercise of the powers conferred by article 240 of the Constitution read with sub-section (2) of section 58 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, the President is pleased to promulgate the following Regulation made by her”.
This Regulation may be called the Union territory of Ladakh Reservation (Amendment) Regulation, 2025. It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Ladakh and shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
It is important to mention here that move is aimed at safeguarding local interests as people in Ladakh have been protesting for constitutional safeguards to protect their language, culture and land after the special status of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 was abrogated in 2019.
This news has brought smiles on the faces of common people of Ladakh and is slated to boost region.
