In a significant step towards strengthening educational infrastructure in the region, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kulgam, Mohd Yousuf Tarigami, today inaugurated a Library-cum-Reading Room in the district.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by DDC Chairperson Mohd Azfal, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Athar Amir Khan, Xen R&B Shabir Ahmad Tak, AEE Prince Ahmad, and other senior officials from the district administration. The newly inaugurated facility aims to offer students and knowledge seekers access to a diverse collection of books, journals, and digital learning tools.
Speaking at the event, MLA Tarigami emphasized the critical role libraries play in nurturing intellectual curiosity and academic growth. He highlighted that the library would serve as a valuable resource, especially for students preparing for competitive examinations.
DDC Chairperson Mohd Azfal and the Deputy Commissioner echoed similar sentiments, reaffirming the administration's commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and fostering a culture of learning throughout the district.
The ceremony concluded with a tour of the facility and interactions with students and local residents, who welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation for the focus on educational development.
