Kulgam, May 27: In a significant step towards promoting cleanliness and hygiene, the Municipal Council Kulgam today launched an awareness program under the "Swachhta Darshan" initiative. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from council employees who organized a rally to engage the public in the mission of a cleaner Kulgam.
The rally commenced from the Municipal Council Kulgam office and proceeded to Sangus Crossing, drawing attention from locals and shopkeepers along the route. Holding placards and raising slogans, the participants spread key messages on the importance of maintaining clean and green surroundings.
Officials from the Municipal Council emphasized the need for active public involvement in sanitation efforts, urging residents to properly dispose of waste and refrain from littering public spaces.
The awareness drive is part of a broader campaign under the Swachh Bharat Mission, aimed at instilling a sense of responsibility among citizens to contribute towards a healthier and more hygienic environment.
Municipal authorities plan to conduct more such drives in the coming weeks to cover various wards and localities across Kulgam.
