The Indian Army has confirmed that no ceasefire violation has occurred in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector, dismissing recent rumors of cross border firing. Army officials stated that the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) remains completely under control, with troops conducting routine patrolling and maintaining strict surveillance to ensure peace in the region.

An Army spokesperson said, “There has been no incident of ceasefire violation in the Poonch sector. Our patrol and monitoring systems are functioning normally. People are requested not to believe in any rumors or false reports that could create panic.”

Since the reaffirmation of the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan in 2021, border areas in Poonch and Rajouri have largely remained peaceful, with only occasional reports of isolated firing incidents in recent years. Local administration, in coordination with the Army, has strengthened security arrangements to maintain normalcy along the border.

The Army has assured that all necessary measures are in place to safeguard the borders and that troops are always prepared to respond to any unforeseen situation. Local residents, initially anxious due to circulating rumors, have been reassured that life in border villages can continue normally without fear.
