One Dead, Another Injured in Batengoo, Anantnag Road Accident

Anantnag, July 31: A man lost his life while another sustained injuries in a road accident near Fruit Mandi Batengoo in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday, officials confirmed.

According to officials, an unknown vehicle struck a motorcycle without a registration number, causing critical injuries to both riders. The duo was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where one of them succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Yousuf Najar (40), son of Abdul Gani Najar, a resident of Gurr Bijbehara. The injured, a 40-year-old resident of Addar, is reported to be in stable condition.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to trace the vehicle involved and ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
