The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned over Rs. 197 crore for the welfare of police personnel in the state. The funds will be used for a variety of purposes, including housing, education, and medical care.

The announcement was made by the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, on the occasion of the Police Commemoration Day on June 13, 2023. She said that the government is committed to the welfare of the police personnel and their families.

The funds will be used to construct new houses for police personnel, provide financial assistance for the education of their children, and upgrade the medical facilities available to them. The government will also provide financial assistance to the families of police personnel who have been killed or injured in the line of duty.

The Chief Minister said that the police force is playing a vital role in maintaining law and order in the state. She said that the government is grateful for their service and sacrifice.

The welfare measures announced by the government are a welcome step. They will go a long way in improving the living conditions of police personnel and their families. The government should also take steps to address the other challenges faced by the police force, such as the shortage of manpower and the lack of modern equipment.

Here are some of the benefits that the welfare measures will provide to police personnel and their families:

Housing: The government will construct new houses for police personnel who do not have a home of their own.

Education: The government will provide financial assistance to the children of police personnel for their education.

Medical care: The government will upgrade the medical facilities available to police personnel and their families.

Financial assistance: The government will provide financial assistance to the families of police personnel who have been killed or injured in the line of duty.

These welfare measures will go a long way in improving the quality of life of police personnel and their families. They will also help to motivate the police force to perform their duties with dedication and professionalism.
