Legendary actor Jackie Chan will again feature as Mr. Han in the sixth installment of the Karate Kid franchise, Karate Kid: Legends, which is scheduled to release worldwide on May 30, 2025. This marks Chan's return to the franchise after 15 years since the 2010 film release. In a recent interview, Chan emphasized that he always performs his own stunts, saying, "Of course, I always do my own stunts.". It's who I am. That's not changing until the day that I retire, which is never! After doing them for 64 years, there's no physical preparation anymore. Everything is in your heart and soul; it is muscle memory".
Karate Kid: Legends continues from the end of the previous film with a new protagonist, kung fu mastermind Li Fong, who moves to New York City and attempts to establish himself. With the help of Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) and the original Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Li learns to combine kung fu and karate methods for a cutthroat karate tournament.
The film is directed by Jonathan Entwistle and written by Rob Lieber and Robert Mark Kamen, bringing the franchise of the original films and Cobra Kai series into a single universe.
Jackie Chan was excited to return to the franchise, noting that the story of Mr. Han shifts now to the streets of New York, where he still treasures his students so much.
Expect a combination of action, emotion, and mastery of martial arts when Karate Kid: Legends debuts on May 30, 2025.
