June 5, Jammu & Kashmir:
Following the successful completion of the Katra–Sangaldan Rail Link Project, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open the Vande Bharat Express on June 6, marking a significant milestone for the railway connectivity of Jammu and Kashmir.
An important turning point in India's infrastructure accomplishments will be reached when the new train crosses the Chenab Bridge, the highest railway bridge in the world. At 359 meters above the Chenab River, the bridge is taller than the Eiffel Tower and represents the pinnacle of contemporary engineering. It is a component of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, which intends to link the Indian Railways network with the Kashmir Valley.
Known for its quickness, security, and contemporary conveniences, the Vande Bharat Express will provide better connectivity and shorter travel times throughout the area. Its introduction is anticipated to greatly contribute to the socioeconomic development of Jammu and Kashmir by increasing trade, tourism, and local residents' ease of mobility. Active preparations are in progress, according to images taken from Srinagar Railway Station. The station and surrounding infrastructure are seen to be prepared for the inaugural event by railway officials and employees. Local officials are organising security and logistical preparations for the flagging-off ceremony, which is expected to garner national attention.
The Katra–Sangaldan segment is a component of a broader initiative to overcome regional climate and geographic obstacles and offer all weather rail connectivity. The completion of the project is viewed as a symbolic and strategic step toward deeper integration between Kashmir and the rest of the nation.
Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Railway Minister, had previously declared that the USBRL project was moving forward in mission mode and that the people of the area would benefit greatly from this new link. As anticipation grows, Indian Railways and the country are proud to have launched the Vande Bharat service via one of the most picturesque and structurally audacious routes in the nation.
