Police books 03 Narcotics Offenders under PIT NDPS Act in Sopore

May 27:Continuing its uncompromising stance against the drug menace, Police in Sopore have booked three chronic narcotics offenders under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS). The trio had been persistently involved in drug peddling despite multiple FIRs and arrests, posing a serious threat to public health and safety.


The three chronic narcotics offenders namely Bilal Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Rashid Lone resident of Lorihama Rafiabad, Jameel Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Saripara Rafiabad and Mohammad Altaf Dar son of Ghulam Qadir Dar resident of Mumkakh Batpora Sopore, had developed a consistent pattern of narcotics trafficking and continued their activities despite repeated legal action. After detailed dossier preparation and confirmation by the competent authority, all three have been detained under the stringent provisions of the PIT NDPS Act to prevent further harm to the society.


This action reflects J&K Police’s zero-tolerance policy toward drug trafficking and its firm resolve to break the supply chain of narcotics.
