JAMMU, JUNE 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Police has taken serious note of a viral video that surfaced on social media on June 24, 2025, allegedly showing police personnel from Bakshi Nagar Police Station parading a half-naked man with slippers garlanded around his neck in public. The incident reportedly took place in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bakshi Nagar, with the individual seen seated in the bonnet of a police vehicle.
Terming the conduct of the police personnel as "unprofessional" and "unbecoming of members of a disciplined organization," the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Joginder Singh (JKPS), has ordered a preliminary enquiry into the matter. The enquiry has been entrusted to SDPO City North, Jammu, who has been directed to investigate the incident thoroughly and submit his findings within a week.
The police department has emphasized that stern departmental action will be taken against those found guilty following the completion of the enquiry.
The order has been circulated to concerned officers, including SP City North Jammu, SDPO City West Jammu, and relevant sections of the DPO Jammu for necessary action.
