KULGAM, JUNE 25:

In a significant public outreach initiative, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), today visited the village of Khull to assess public issues firsthand and review ongoing development projects in the area.

During the visit, multiple public delegations and residents met the DC and apprised him of several key demands. These included making the local filtration plants functional, deploying additional teaching staff at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Khull, early completion of the road to Gujjar Basti, desilting of the irrigation canal, and removal of encroachments, among other concerns.

DC Kulgam gave a patient hearing to the grievances raised and assured the locals of timely resolution. Some issues were redressed on the spot, while directions were issued to concerned departments for prompt action on others. He emphasized the need for proactive and responsive governance and urged officers to ensure efficient public service delivery.

As part of the visit, the DC inspected the ongoing construction of an Additional Classroom (ACR) at GHSS Khull. Reviewing the pace and quality of work, he instructed the Executive Engineer to expedite construction and complete it within the stipulated timeline.

DC Khan also took stock of works being executed under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and other ongoing developmental projects in the area. He stressed the importance of timely execution and quality assurance to ensure lasting public benefits.

The visit was part of the district administration's ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between the government and the people and to ensure grassroots-level development.
