ANANTNAG, MAY 27: In a proactive move to ensure quality education and institutional accountability, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, today conducted a surprise inspection of Shaheed Himayun Muzzamil Memorial Government Degree College (GDC) Boys Anantnag.
The Minister undertook a comprehensive tour of the college campus, visiting classrooms, laboratories, and key facilities to assess the infrastructure and overall academic environment. She engaged in detailed interactions with the Principal, faculty members, and administrative staff, emphasizing the institution's significance in South Kashmir's educational landscape.
Highlighting the historic and academic importance of GDC Boys Anantnag, Itoo asserted, “This college stands as one of the oldest and most vital institutions in the region. There can be no compromise on the quality of education being delivered here. Educational institutions like this are the backbone of our youth’s future, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure they offer the best environment to nurture talent.”
She also interacted with students to gain direct feedback on the academic standards and the challenges they face, reaffirming her commitment to improving educational outcomes across the region.
The visit underlines the government’s continued focus on strengthening higher education infrastructure and ensuring accountability in academic institutions.
