Sakeena Masood Holds Public Darbar at Panchan Pathri, Announces Development of Area as Tourist Destination

KULGAM, JUNE 21:


In a major outreach initiative, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Ms. Sakeena Masood, today held a large-scale Public Darbar at Panchan Pathri, Humpathri area of Kulgam district to assess public grievances and developmental needs.


The event witnessed overwhelming participation from residents of Panchan Pathri, Humpathri, and adjacent areas. MLA Zainapora, Showkat Hussain Ganie, Director Social Welfare Kashmir, Director School Education Kashmir, Director Health Services Kashmir, along with senior officers of the district administration and various block-level officials, were also present.


Addressing the gathering, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment under the leadership of Omar Abdullah towards inclusive development and public welfare. She stated that the administration is working tirelessly to uplift socio-economic conditions across the region.


Highlighting the scenic and ecological significance of Panchan Pathri, Sakeena Masood announced that the area would be developed and promoted as a new tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir. “Panchan Pathri has immense tourism potential. We are committed to holistic development here, which will not only enhance local infrastructure but also generate employment opportunities for youth,” she said.


During the public interaction, locals raised several developmental concerns including poor road connectivity, water supply, and street lighting. Responding promptly, the Minister issued on-spot directions for the installation of solar lights, enhancement of the water supply system, and preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Sarbdri-Humpathri road.


She assured the public that all genuine demands would be addressed in a time-bound manner.


MLA Zainapora, Showkat Hussain Ganie, also addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of public participation in developmental planning.
