Kulgam, July 21: As part of the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2024-25, Kulgam Police on Sunday organized a drug awareness programme under the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) DH Pora.
The event witnessed the participation of the school Principal, faculty members, students, and other respected locals. Senior police officials including SDPO DH Pora Shri Reyaz Ahmad, DySP DAR Kulgam Shri Mohd Ayub Rather, and SHO PS Manzgam were also present.
Addressing the gathering, the officers stressed the urgent need to shield the youth from the growing threat of drug abuse. They underscored the social, mental, and physical damage caused by narcotics, urging students to lead drug-free lives and serve as ambassadors of a healthier society.
A debate competition was also held, where students voiced their thoughts, concerns, and ideas on combating the drug menace. Their speeches reflected deep awareness and commitment toward finding solutions to this critical issue.
The programme reflects J&K Police’s continued efforts in fostering community engagement and creating drug-free surroundings. The participants appreciated the initiative, recognizing it as a step towards building stronger ties between the police and the youth.
To encourage participation and boost morale, the top two position holders in the debate competition were awarded mementos and cash prizes.
