Kulgam, May 28: In preparation for the upcoming visit of the Union Home Minister to Jammu and Kashmir, security has been significantly heightened across Kulgam district. The district police, under a comprehensive security plan, have tightened vigil at key locations and set up multiple checkpoints to maintain law and order.
Acting on the directives of SSP Kulgam, Shri Sahil Sarangal (IPS), police teams have launched intensified checking and frisking operations. A team led by SHO Manzgam, Muzamil Ahmad, carried out extensive security checks at various strategic points within Manzgam jurisdiction to ensure a safe environment ahead of the high-profile visit.
“These measures are part of standard operating procedures to maintain a secure atmosphere during VVIP movements,” a senior police official stated, noting that additional deployments have been made in sensitive areas and forces remain on high alert.
The administration has urged citizens to cooperate with security personnel and remain vigilant. The enhanced security grid aims to ensure a peaceful and incident-free visit as preparations continue across South Kashmir.
