Security Operation Underway in Kishtwar After Terror Encounter

Jammu & Kashmir , May 22 2025: On Thursday Morning, a major anti-terror operation is ongoing in the Kishtwar district after an exchange of fire between security forces and suspected terrorists in the Shingpora area of Chhatru.

According to the officials, joint operation involving the Army and police was initiated after a credible intelligence input. 

The Army’s White Knight Corps confirmed contact with terrorists, and additional reinforcements been deployed to the area. 

The operation remains active with reports indicating that two to four militants are believed to be hiding in the region.

Tragically, a soldier sustained grievous injuries during the firefight and later succumbed, said the army officials .
