Senior officers in meeting to assess security in Kashmir

There was a top-level meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Kashmir on Sunday to assess the security scenario in the Kashmir Valley. The joint meeting was presided over by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V. K. Bardi. Senior officers of the Army, Police, Central Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs), and intelligence agencies attended the meeting.


In a release to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the police stated that the meeting was attended by IG BSF, IG CRPF Kashmir Operations, CRPF Srinagar, Deputy Director Intelligence Bureau (IB), DIG SSB, RPF, BSF Srinagar, ITBP, Traffic Kashmir, 15 Corps of the Army representatives, SSP Srinagar, Railways, Traffic, CID, SDRF, and many other top departmental officials. Also virtually present were the Superintendents of Police of CISF, SKR, and other districts.


During the onset of the meeting, an exhaustive briefing was presented before the IGP Kashmir regarding the overall security scenario in the Valley. Intelligence sharing, threat analysis, emergency response strategy and coordination between agencies were the subject of discussions.


IGP Kashmir emphasized requiring greater coordination among all security and intelligence agencies. Proper sharing of information and preparation for collaborative operations is the need of the hour, according to him.


With this meeting, all security agencies and intelligence agencies again pledged their support to act jointly to ensure peace and stability in the Kashmir Valley.
