Stolen Vehicle Recovered by Akhnoor Police During Routine Patrol

During routine patrolling, the police party of Police Station Akhnoor, led by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Sanjeev Chib, recovered a suspiciously abandoned white Maruti Ecco vehicle bearing registration number JK02BF-2767. Upon verification, it was confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Rehari Colony, Jammu, during the intervening night of April 14 and 15, 2025. The theft had initially been reported at Police Post Sarwal, resulting in the registration of FIR No. 44/2025 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Bakshi Nagar.

In accordance with legal procedure, the Akhnoor police seized the vehicle under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to preserve evidence and maintain the integrity of the investigation. This swift and vigilant action by the Akhnoor police reflects their efficiency, alertness, and strong commitment to inter-jurisdictional crime detection and coordination. The Investigating Officer at Police Station Bakshi Nagar has been duly informed for further investigation and necessary legal action.
