The dastardly terror attack of Pahalgam which had resulted in unfortunate death of 26 tourists had been a very serious setback to the growing Kashmir tourism.

Terror had stuck at time when Kashmir tourism was setting new records.  It had rattled entire nation and whole Kashmir poured on to streets condemning this heinous crime against humanity.

World joined India in condemning the Pakistan Sponsored criminal terrorism. The tourism in Kashmir and those sectors dependent on it were biggest losers .

But, with consistent efforts of Central and Union territory Government the tourism in Kashmir is making a steady revival.

In this regard, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday, 9 July, 2025 , emphasised that the tourism sector in Kashmir is witnessing a positive surge, following the April 22 Pahalgam attack, with the pilgrims arriving in large numbers for the Amarnath Yatra.

CM Abdullah arrived in Kolkata to take part in a tourism fair.

Speaking to the media, he said, “Tourists are coming back to Kashmir in good numbers. Amarnath Yatra has also begun, and pilgrims have been coming in good numbers on both routes. I talked to some pilgrims, and they are all happy.”

“I have come to Kolkata to take part in the tourism fair because we want tourists from West Bengal to come to Jammu and Kashmir in good numbers,” CM Abdullah said.

The tourism stakeholder in Jammu and Kashmir are quite happy over tourism revival in Kashmir and hope it returns to old glory soon.
