Two Children Drown After Falling into River in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, May 16: In a tragic incident, two children lost their lives after accidentally falling into a river near the Drabshalla Police Post in Kishtwar district on Friday afternoon, officials confirmed.

The victims have been identified as Mohd Irfan, son of Atta Mohammad, and Tehseen Ahmed, son of Noor Hussain. Both were residents of Pianallha village in Tehsil Drabshalla.

According to officials, the incident occurred suddenly, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. A team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), along with Red Cross volunteers, rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.

Despite swift efforts, the bodies of both children were recovered from the river later in the day.

Authorities have initiated further investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
