Two Dead, Three Injured in Galander Pampore Road Accident

Srinagar, July 7: In a tragic incident, two persons lost their lives and three others sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred during the night hours in the Galander Pampore area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district.


According to a police official, a black Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK02DQ-2585, driven by Jhonty, son of Tarseem Lal, a resident of Mershiwala, Akhnoor in Jammu, met with an accident while carrying four other passengers.


All five occupants were injured in the mishap and were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility. However, the driver Jhonty and one of the co-passengers, Sono Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Dabsora, Jammu, succumbed to their injuries.


Police said the cause of the accident is being investigated. A case has been registered under relevant sections of law and further proceedings are underway.
