Two Terrorist Associates Apprehended with Arms and Ammunition in Shopian

Shopian, May 19: In a significant security operation, two terrorist associates were apprehended late Sunday evening along with a cache of arms and ammunition in the DK Pora area of Imam Sahib, South Kashmir’s Shopian district.


According to officials, the arrests were made during a joint naka (checkpoint) operation conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles, and the 178 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).


During the operation, the two individuals were intercepted and detained. A detailed search led to the recovery of four hand grenades, two pistols, 43 live rounds, and other incriminating materials from their possession.


A case has been registered under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway to determine the suspects’ motives and any affiliations with terrorist groups. Security forces continue to maintain a heightened state of alert across the region.
