Kulgam, May 4: In a spirited celebration of fitness and well-being, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Kulgam on Sunday organized a “Fit India Sunday – Cycling Rally” across all six zones of the district. The event was held under the leadership and supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mushtaq Ahmed Pompuri.
The initiative, part of the national Fit India Movement, witnessed enthusiastic participation from departmental employees across the zones of Damhal Hanjipora, H.C. Gam, Kulgam, Devsar, Qoimoh, and Yaripora. Participants engaged in early morning cycling rallies, spreading the message of regular physical activity, environmental consciousness, and disciplined living.
Speaking on the occasion, DYSSO Kulgam, Mushtaq Ahmed Pompuri, commended the dedication and coordination shown by the field officers and departmental staff. “This initiative is not just about physical exercise, but about nurturing a culture of fitness and inspiring the wider community to embrace a healthy lifestyle,” he said.
The department emphasized its ongoing commitment to promoting sports and wellness activities throughout the district, with plans to organize similar events in the future.
