YSS Kulgam Launches Inter-Zone District Level Tournaments under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan

Kulgam, May 24:The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS), District Kulgam, kick-started a vibrant series of sports activities under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at the Sports Stadium Kulgam. The initiative, spearheaded by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori, aims to harness the power of sports to steer youth away from drug abuse and towards a healthier, more productive lifestyle.

The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of several esteemed dignitaries. Hon’ble MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, highlighting the government's commitment to youth engagement and drug-free living. He was joined by DDC Chairperson Mohd Afzal, DDC Qaimoh Mohd Aabas, ACR Kulgam Reyaz Ahmad Shah, and AEE R&B Prince Ahmad, among others.

A wide array of sports tournaments across different disciplines is being held, featuring spirited participation from teams representing various zones of the district. These inter-zone competitions are designed not only to promote physical fitness but also to foster camaraderie, discipline, and positive engagement among the youth.

Speaking on the occasion, officials emphasized the importance of such events in building a vibrant sports culture while contributing to the larger goal of eradicating substance abuse from the region.

YSS Kulgam has extended a warm welcome to all athletes and spectators, expressing hope for a successful and inspiring tournament series that uplifts the youth and promotes a drug-free Kulgam.
