Kulgam, June 4: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Kulgam continued its celebration of World Environment Week 2025 with enthusiasm and active participation across the district. On Day-6 of the weeklong campaign, various activities focusing on environmental conservation and sustainability were conducted.
In Zone Damhal Hanjipora, a series of Clean-up Drives were held with the participation of students and staff from various schools. Over 1050 boys and girls, along with faculty members, joined hands to clean public spaces and spread the message of cleanliness and eco-conscious living throughout the zone. The initiative not only highlighted the importance of a clean environment but also showcased the youth’s dedication toward preserving nature.
Meanwhile, the Zonal Physical Education Office Devsar successfully organized Inter-School Zonal Level Table Tennis competitions for U/14 and U/17 girls. The matches were held at HSS Devsar, HSS Chowgam, and HSS Kilam, drawing enthusiastic participation from more than 85 students across the zone. The sporting event fostered healthy competition and camaraderie among students while complementing the ongoing environmental awareness campaign.
