Kulgam, July 31: In a spirited effort to promote fitness and well-being among youth, the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Kulgam, successfully organized a district-wide Cycle Race (Cyclothon) as part of the ongoing Fit India Movement. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across multiple educational zones of the district.
In Zone Kulgam, over 75 boys and girls from various institutions took part in vibrant cycle rallies, reflecting the collective zeal towards health and community engagement.
In Zone D.H. Pora, the Cyclothon began from Zirayat Road, Manzgam and culminated at Lisserpora. The event, overseen by the Zonal Physical Education Office, D.H. Pora, featured 16 young cyclists representing different schools and sports units.
Zone Devsar hosted its Cyclothon from Chinar Point to Brick Kalan, Kilam, with 30 cyclists participating. The Zonal Physical Education Office, Devsar, ensured smooth coordination and safety measures throughout the event.
Meanwhile, in Zone H.C. Gam, the rally commenced from Mohammad Pora and ended at Akipora, with 25 cyclists actively participating under the supervision of the Zonal Physical Education Office, H.C. Gam.
The district-wide initiative not only highlighted the growing commitment to fitness and active lifestyles but also aimed to raise awareness on environmental sustainability through non-motorized mobility.
